US gambling revenue up 6% in May 2023

The total revenue from slot machines, table games and betting offices of land-based casinos, as well as online betting made in the United States in May 2023 was $5.49 billion. This follows a report released the other day by the American Gaming Association (AGA), which contains data for 33 jurisdictions where commercial gambling takes place.
Compared to the same period last year, gaming revenue was up 6.4 per cent, with May marking the 27th consecutive month with positive year-on-year revenue growth.
Total slot machine revenue totalled $2.98 billion, up 1.3 per cent on last year. Table games revenue fell 4.8% to $834.3 million.
The sports betting segment brought in $864.1 million, up 41.5% from a year earlier.
Online gambling revenue grew 43.4% to $498.4 million.
