A tender for a land plot for a casino-hotel has been announced in Uruguay, writes local publication El Observador. The corresponding order was signed the other day by the President of the country Luis Lacalle Pou. Signatures under the document also put the ministers of tourism, economy and finance, as well as transportation and public works.
The buyer of the land plot will receive a license for a casino-hotel for 20 years. The operator will be supervised by the Ministry of Tourism.
The site is located between the cities of La Paloma and La Aguada. The initial sale price will be approximately US$6.2 million.
During the first seven years, the operator will pay 7.2% of gross gaming revenue in taxes, and then this amount will increase to 7.97%. In addition, it will be required to pay an annual fee of 1.8 million dollars, which will increase by 100 thousand dollars in the future.
