The state lottery company will be liquidated in Kyrgyzstan. The corresponding instruction was given the day before by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov.
The instruction was given during a meeting at which reports from state-owned enterprises and joint-stock companies on the results of their activities for 2023 were heard. At the meeting, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers criticized the activities of the monopoly enterprise State Lottery Company, which has been suffering losses for two years. In this regard, Zhaparov gave instructions to liquidate the company.
Let us recall that on May 13, 2017, the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev signed the law “On Lotteries”, prohibiting all lotteries except state ones.
As previously reported, the first casino opened in May 2022 in the capital of the country, Bishkek. The gambling establishment operates under a license issued by the State Financial Supervision Authority. The cost of the license was 84 million soms.
