The jackpot of the American Powerball lottery has reached $875 million. According to the lottery organizers, this happened after the drawing held last Saturday again did not reveal a winner of the grand prize.

The size of the jackpot became the third-largest in the entire history of the lottery. The next drawing will take place on Monday. According to the rules of the lottery, the winner will have the option to choose between receiving the prize in equal installments over 29 years or a lump-sum payment of $465.1 million.

The largest jackpot in the history of the lottery was won in November 2022 when California resident Edwin Castro became the winner of a $2.04 billion prize.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. Powerball tickets cost $2 and are sold in 45 US states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
