The game chip scam caused a loss of MOP 5.675 million ($700 000) to the Galaxy Macau casino.
According to the local publication Macau Business, this was announced at a press conference last Wednesday by a representative of the Judicial Police of the Special Administrative Region of China.
According to him, on August 21, for two hours, the attackers used 493 fake game chips worth 10,000 macau patacas in the casino, placing bets and exchanging chips with other visitors. After the discovery of a fake by casino employees, the police detained two Chinese citizens suspected of fraud. Another six people have been put on the wanted list.
