The UAE has established the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). The local news agency WAM reported this on Monday.

The federal body will create a regulatory framework for the National Lottery and commercial gambling.

Kevin Mullally, who has more than 30 years of experience in national and international gambling regulation, has been appointed CEO of the GCGRA.

The activities of the gambling regulator will be supervised by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. At the same time, the authorities of each of the seven emirates will have the right to decide whether to allow gambling.

Let us remind you that gambling is currently prohibited in the UAE. At the same time, the authorities plan to open the first casino, which will become part of the Wynn Marjan resort in Ras Al Khaimah.
